Wipe Out Fleas Fast with a Flea Bomb

If there’s anything that bothers people to the extent of frustration it’s fleas. They eat into your clothing if it’s damp, despoil your books and make your whole place unhygienic. They are a downright pain for your pets and can cause many diseases and infections. These tiny little nuisances can make life hell for anybody and they need to be controlled before they get the chance to feel too much at home. Flea foggers are the most effective and efficient way of getting rid of them in a home environment.

Bug bombs or flea bombs as they are sometimes known can come in many different types. There are many fogging bombs which are lethal for your pets and they contain chemicals like Permethrin. Such chemicals can even induce allergies in human beings and cause skin and eye irritations. For indoor usage it is best to use a mild fog bomb, which does not contain any harsh and potentially dangerous chemicals. After you use the flea bomb, the area should be left unvisited for some time. After the fog has stayed for the prescribed duration, open the windows and let the area come in contact with fresh air. For spaces such as kitchens, remove all the food from the vicinity of your target area and preferably wipe down the place with baking powder after the job has been done. This will neutralize any leftover traces of chemicals and make sure the area is safe again.

Another effective way of getting rid of fleas is by using a flea spray. These chemical aerosols work over limited areas and can be used to target small regions like nooks and corners of cupboards. Though a little less effective than fumigation, these are safer to use.

If you want to treat your pets as well as your home for a flea infestation, consult your vet to find a disinfectant shampoo that will be both friendly and safe for your cat or dog. Using conventional topical flea sprays on your animals is not advisable, and can be harmful for their fur and the sensitive skin underneath.

When using bug bombs or flea sprays, certain basic precautions must be taken. You must always cover your face with some kind of mask or a cloth to avoid inhaling the fog. Your eyes are very sensitive and should be protected too. In case there’s someone pregnant in the home, fumigation is not recommended. There are sets of instructions on the canister of your anti-flea treatment and in case something untoward happens like chemical contact with eyes, follow them strictly and consult a doctor as soon as possible. Hygiene is important; just make sure it doesn’t come at the price of safety.
